Batman & Robin is a 1997 American film, directed by Joel Schumacher, produced by Peter Macgregor-Scott, written by Akiva Goldsman and starring George Clooney, Chris O'Donnell, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Uma Thurman and Alicia Silverstone. The film has a soundtrack by Elliot Goldenthal.
Synopsis[]
Dr. Victor Fries experiments, through which he seeks to cryogenically preserve his wife's life, cause a fatal error that turns him into Mr. Freeze, a villain who needs to keep his body at freezing temperatures and who will try to freeze everyone in Gotham City. Furthermore, during an experiment, the shy botanist Pamela Isley transforms into the terrible Poison Ivy, who will try to kill all human beings so that plants can regain their hegemony over the Earth. About the cast[]
- Arturo Mercado, who voices Batman (George Clooney) in this film, was previously the voice of Robin in animated series such as Batman and Robin, The Challenge of the Superfriends and The New Adventures of Batman.
- Later, he would play Alfred in the video game Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham.
- In turn, René García, who dubs Robin in this film and its predecessor (Chris O'Donnell), would become the voice of Batman in the dubbing of Batman Returns and in the DC Films Universe until 2021.
- Dulce Guerrero, who lends her voice to Julie Madison (Elle Macpherson), also participated in the dubbing of two other Batman films: she played Catwoman / Selina Kyle (Michelle Pfeiffer) in the dubbing of Batman Returns; and Dr. Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman) in Batman Forever, all being romantic interests of Batman/Bruno Díaz.
- Blas García previously played Mr. Cold in the 1977 animated series The New Adventures of Batman, and in this film he is played by actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
