Carlos Becerril was born on October 24, 1935 in Mexico City, being the second son of Salvador Becerril and Carmen Hernández. He is the brother of the actress María Becerril and brother-in-law of Víctor Mares, uncle of Víctor Mares Jr. and Lydia Areli Mares and father of the actress Laura Becerril.
His interest in acting arose as a child, standing out at school parties where he was always chosen to perform or say recitations. Having attended the third year of high school several times, with a lack of interest in school he finally decided to abandon it, it was firm in him that he did not want to dedicate himself to anything other than acting. This decision was supported by his father who encouraged him to take dancing, singing, fencing and other related disciplines. He studied acting for three years at the National Association of Actors, at the Andrés Soler academy, two years with a Japanese director, Seki Sano, and then with a Greek director. He then began his career doing theater from a very young age and then appearing in some television soap operas.
Doing some plays, of poor quality to his taste, his colleague Claudio Brook, is the one who invites him to work with him in dubbing as an economic alternative that does not force him to accept the theatrical roles that he did not like. . With almost 6 decades in the field of dubbing, his natural talent for embodying various characters with his voice made him end up in this profession where he has stood out. He is one of the few survivors of the golden age of Mexican dubbing, which began in the mid-1950s.
