The Joker is a fictional character belonging to DC Comics and archenemy of Batman. The Joker is one of the most influential villains in the history of comics, and one of the best recognized on a mass level. A threat to heroes and villains alike, he is one of the most sinister and dangerous antagonists in the DC Universe.
His first appearance occurred in the comic Batman No. 1 in early 1940. The conceptual creation of the villain was conceived by art assistant Jerry Robinson and then redesigned by screenwriter Bill Finger and artist Bob Kane, who based the final drawing of the character in photographs of actor Conrad Veidt from the film adaptation of "The Man Who Laughs" (1928) that Finger gave him.
The character is responsible for many misfortunes in Batman's life, such as the death of Jason Todd, the second Robin, the paralysis of Barbara Gordon, better known as Batgirl, and the death of Sarah Essen. -Gordon.
The Joker was named the eighth best comic book character by Empire Magazine and the fifth best by Wizard Magazine. In 2008 he reached number one on the list of the 100 greatest villains, also by Wizard.
Dubbing[]
The most recurring voice of the character was that of Rubén León, who began dubbing him from Batman: The Animated Series in 1992 but as of September 2017 he resigned from the studio. dubbing "ETC Group/Vidaudio" stating that the reason for his departure was due to the disrespect they had towards his acting quality. The company wanted to make him sign a contract in which he literally said that he was being paid "well and enough" when in reality the pay was very poor, he was only asking for a variation in terms for what was said previously, this without asking for an increase in payment and disrespectfully was denied. This is why he stops dubbing the Joker after 25 years for DC Comics animations in Latin America, being replaced by Javier Rivero. The latter becoming its new official voice.
