José Luis Castañeda (born September 9, 1945) is a Mexican dubbing, television, and film actor.
Owner of a peculiar voice, which allowed him to play characters like Professor Seymour Skinner in The Simpsons, Takenori Akagi in Slam Dunk and Lieutenant Martin Castillo in Miami Vice, to name a few.

He entered dubbing in 1970 at the company SISSA - Oruga, in those early years, his first job and also the one that made him known in the industry was giving voice to the actor David Carradine in the series Kung Fu.
Later in the 80s, he began working in studios such as Audiomaster 3000, Procineas S.C.L., Producciones Salgado, and Telespeciales, S.A., among others.
Being at this time where he played some of his best known characters, such as Lieutenant Martin Castillo in Miami Vice, Erik "Magnus" Lehnsherr / Magneto in X-Men, William Munny (Clint Eastwood) in The Unforgivables, Roy Batty in Blade Runner, among others.
At the end of the 80s, Castañeda began working for the Intertrack studio, a studio where he would carry out the work for which he is mostly known today, dubbing multiple characters from the Dragon Ball series, including Dr. Brief, the father of Bulma in Dragon Ball, Nappa, Butter, Doctor Maki Gero, Kibito, among many others in Dragon Ball Z, and the first voice of Dr. Myu and the 1 Star Dragon, among many others in Dragon Ball GT, and in addition to participating in other remembered animes such as Digimon: Digital Monsters, where he played Meramon.
In 2010 he retired from dubbing, being inactive for eight years, but at the end of 2018 he had a comeback retaking his character Nappa for his short appearance in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
