Voice over and voice acting Wiki

Juan Cuadra Escobar (November 6, 1945 – July 3, 2019) was a Nicaraguan voice actor based in Los Angeles. He was the father of fellow voice actor Ulises Cuadra.

Biography[]

In his youth, he worked as a voice-over artist in his native Nicaragua, creating commercials for major companies like Coca-Cola. He also presented musical themes and recorded radio soap operas. After the 1972 Managua earthquake, he emigrated to the United States. A few months later, a friend took him to a studio across the street from Universal Studios to take a dubbing test. Since then, he has lent his voice to countless films, series, animated films, and anime. In recent years, he has hosted the "English Without Barriers" course.

He retired from dubbing a few years ago and passed away on July 3, 2019. His son Ulises Cuadra, who has followed in his footsteps and is now a prominent voice-over actor in Los Angeles, announced the news.
