Karl Malden was an American actor with a long and renowned career in the film and television industry, his professional career spanned from 1936 to 2000. He is best remembered for his role as Police Lieutenant Mike Stone in the television series The Streets of San Francisco (1972-1977). Malden won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film A Streetcar Named Desire in 1952.
