Luis Alfonso Mendoza (November 20, 1964 - February 29, 2020) was a Mexican actor, dubbing director and announcer with more than 40 years of experience in the field.

He was primarily known for being the voice of teenage and adult Gohan in the Dragon Ball franchise, Daniel LaRusso in the The Karate Kid saga, Count Pátula in the eponymous series, Leonardo in several of his appearances, Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, Edward in Camp Lazlo, Kon in Bleach, Carlton Banks in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air where he also made his debut as a dubbing director, the voice of Bugs Bunny since 1998, the second voice of Joey Tribbiani in Friends and Phil Miller in The Last Man on Earth.

In Mexico, he was also known for being the main announcer of the series Ay Caramba! and playing Pichas in El Hormiguero Mx.

Biography

He began his career in 1976 at age 12 on the XEW program "La Voz de América Latina" playing "Demo" (Demetrio), star of the radio soap opera "El Rincón de los Sueños" under the direction of Raúl del Campo Jr. .and where he made countless radio soap operas under the direction of Claudio Lenk, Dolores Muñoz Ledo and many more.

On Radio Educación he played Balam from the radio soap opera "El mundo de Balam", under the direction of Alejandro Ortiz Padilla.

He studied acting at the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA). At the insistence of his friend, the actor Carlos Magaña, he began dubbing in the early 80s in a television program called "Games People Play" under the direction of Jorge Sánchez Fogarty.

He worked under the direction of great teachers such as Narciso Busquets, Jorge Arvizu, Gloria Rocha, Carlos Magaña, Maynardo Zavala, José María Iglesias , Francisco Reséndez, Francisco Colmenero, Julio Macías, Víctor Guajardo, Eduardo Tejedo, Rosanelda Aguirre, Rogelio González Garza, Fernando Álvarez and many more of whom he learned to respect and give all his professionalism to the world of voice dubbing.

He was the brother of Ricardo Mendoza, also a renowned dubbing actor, father of Nayeli Mendoza, also a dubbing actress, and husband of Lourdes Adame, Graduate in Communication Sciences.

In 1995, with the support of his wife, he founded ArtSpot, Voiceover and Voice Dubbing Training Center, where new voices have been generated that are integrated into the media and where professional dubbing is also performed, thanks to its competitive facilities to perform quality dubbing with first-class talent and providing a great opportunity to new generations, where along with dubbing, he also worked as a teacher.

On February 29, 2020, he died along with his wife and brother-in-law, victims of murder.
