Luis Alfonso Padilla (November 3, 1960 - May 12, 2012), was a talented Mexican actor and dubbing director, known for playing Naraku in Inuyasha, Glenn Quagmire at Family Guy, Fred Jones at Scooby-Doo, for over 10 years, among others.
He was an actor of great talent and acting variety, capable of interpreting characters, from sensitive and kind-hearted to villains, destructive and aggressive, in an exceptional way.
He was also the voice of Fang on Krypto the Superdog, Apu, Otto (from seasons 16 to 23) and Lenny Leonard (from seasons 22 to 23) on The Simpsons and Carina Quilla's Atlas in the original dubbing of Saint Seiya: Legend of Crimson Youth.
In 2012, he was unfortunately diagnosed late with pancreatic cancer. That year, a charity event was held to support him and his wife, also an actress Lourdes Morán, who also suffered from cancer. Actors such as Mario Castañeda, René García, Humberto Vélez, Rolando de Castro and Ricardo Hill, among others, participated in this event.
Despite his condition, the actor continued with his calls to voice his characters, such as Fred Jones whom he was dubbing in the series Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Ryan Wolfe in CSI: Miami or the characters he doubled in The Simpsons and Family Guy, but eventually the seriousness of his illness forced him to leave them, reaching to finish the 1st season of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated and only 14 episodes left to finish CSI: Miami. The last project that he managed to conclude was the film Big Miracle.
He passed away on May 12, 2012. His wife Lourdes would go to meet him also suffering from cancer seven years later.
