Nancy MacKenzie Seput (December 6, 1942 – June 14, 2024) was a Peruvian nationalized Mexican voice actress, theater, television, radio host and former folklore dancer. Based in Mexico, she worked for more than 45 years as a voice actress.

She was recognized for giving voice to Marge Simpson in the Latin American dubbing of the animated series The Simpsons until the 15th season, and for being the voice of Trinity in The Matrix and Matrix Reloaded, Sailor Galaxia in Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, voiced by Daphne Blake from the Scooby-Doo franchise for the series The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, among many other characters.

Biography

She began her career as a Peruvian folklore dancer in the group "Perú Canta y Baila", directed by Rosa Elvira Figueroa. At the age of 19 he began working in soap operas, on the Panamericana Televisión station with Gloria Travesí. Likewise, he worked in theater and radio soap operas.

She arrived in Mexico when she was 22 years old, since her husband was Mexican. Shortly after she became a Mexican national, she participated in soap operas on the Telesistema Mexicano channel (today Televisa). At the same time he did radio soap operas, a bit of theater, photonovels, and voiceovers for TV and audiovisual commercials.

He dedicated himself to dubbing Brazilian films, cartoons, television series and soap operas into Spanish for more than 50 years, working with prominent directors such as Carlos Magaña, Narciso Busquets, Francisco Colmenero, Francisco Reséndez, among others.

Her most recognized role was Marge Simpson for the Spanish-American dubbing of the animated series The Simpsons, whom she dubbed until the 15th season, when they were fired due to a conflict between the company Grabaciones y Doblajes and the Mexican union "National Association of Actors" (ANDA). Her replacement for the voice of Marge was Marina Huerta, who was also the voice of Bart. That is until 2020, when Claudia Motta, Bart's second voice, took over from him in both roles.

She once said that when she was called to do The Simpsons she thought about turning down the role, she mentioned: "When I saw Homer Simpson's wife's ugly monkey, I rejected the proposal and said with my voice and not that face; however, my classmates encouraged me and told me to try for a while, and now I am part of a great family, with whom I have grown attached," he highlighted. She was also the voice of Daphne in the The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo series.

She died on June 14, 2024 at 81 years of age. The news of her death was announced three days later. Her last job was to play Sailor Galaxia again in the films Sailor Moon Cosmos - Part 1 and Part 2, projects that will be released posthumously.
