Rebeca Manríquez (born February 9, 1959) is a Mexican television and dubbing actress and director. She has more than 30 years of experience in the specialty of voice dubbing, starting this profession in 1984, where in addition to acting and interpreting, she occasionally works as a director. She is the widow of the voice, television and film actor Jorge Lavat.
Biography
He studied acting at the Andrés Soler Institute, of the ANDA, having as a teacher the dubbing actor Sergio de Bustamante, he also studied at the CEA of Televisa. Throughout his professional career, along with dubbing, he has done theater, television and commercial voiceover.
She has a long career in television where she has participated in a large number of soap operas such as Soledad, The Strange Return of Diana Salazar, Carrusel, María Mercedes, María la del barrio, La usurpadora and Verano de amor, among others. She has also participated in series such as Al Derecho y al Derbez with the comedian Eugenio Derbez and Güereja de mi vida with the comedian María Elena Saldaña.
As a dubbing actress, she has more than 26 years of experience in this medium, starting in 1984. She is the recurring voice of famous actresses such as Michelle Pfeiffer, Frances McDormand and Patricia Clarkson, as well as actress Heather Locklear on television. Here she has worked on countless series such as Desperate Housewives, Samantha Who?, Glee (where she was the first voice of Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch); Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (where she was the first voice of Aunt Gilda Spelmann (Beth Broderick), and Drake and Josh where she provided the voice of the hateful teacher Linda Hayffer (Julia Duffy). She has also worked in anime, standing out for dubbing motherly and sweet characters such as Nodoka Saotome in Ranma 1/2 , Atsuko Okamura in Magical Doremi and Naomi Higurashi in Inuyasha, she has also been the recurring voice of the Brazilian actress Claudia Raia in soap operas of said country such as Belíssima, Seven Sins and The Favorite. She has also worked as a dubbing director in films such as Un any Sunday, Nostalgia for the past and Charlotte Gray; and series like the anime Shaman King and Stuart Little: The Animated Series, where she also lent her voice to the character of Mrs. Eleanor Little.
