Sebastián Llapur (December 24, 1969) is an Argentine announcer and dubbing actor, nationalized Mexican with several years of work. Popularly known for personifying humorous characters, but he has also been able to portray serious characters.
He is known for having several voice registers, with which he has played several popular characters, very different from each other, such as Eduardo in the series Foster Mansion for Imaginary Friends, Diego from the second installment of Ice Age, Bruce, the shark in the animated classic Finding Nemo, and Colossus in the Deadpool, and his most emblematic character Marcus Fénix, the protagonist of the Gears of War video game saga.
Other important roles include: Duck Dodgers in the animated series of the same name, Quico and the second voice of Señor Barriga in El Chavo, the animated series, Thorin Oakenshield in the film saga The Hobbit, and several voices of secondary characters in The Simpsons. All of them in Mexico.
Not to mention that he is the official voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars projects, and Sub-Zero in the Mortal Kombat, among others.
Since 2020, he has resided in Córdoba, Argentina, where he performs remote dubbing.
Biography[]
Born in San Salvador de Jujuy. In search of new professional horizons, at the age of 20 he went to the City of Córdoba (Argentina), later from his country of origin to abroad, more specifically to Mexico, fighting against the adversities of being a foreigner, but with the Over time he managed to build a very respectable career in the dubbing industry.
In mid-2020, he began to temporarily settle in Córdoba, Argentina, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, where he continues to do dubbing from the studio Hi-Fi Mix.[1]
The Simpsons[]
For many years Llapur was part of the stellar cast of the yellow television family The Simpsons, participating in the series for more than 10 years, starting with the role of Grandpa Simpson, being chosen by Humberto Vélez himself for the role.
Even after the so-called "Simpsons Strike", Llapur was one of the few who maintained his character, in fact over time he won more and more, among them Krusty, the clown. , Fat Tony, Snake, Groundskeeper Willie, Disco Stu and Professor Frink, among many others. He was dubbing many of them in the series film.
Finally Llapur would end up being fired from the series in 2013, having for obvious reasons a large number of successors in his roles.
Due to the intervention of Alex Ortega in 2021, Sebastián reprized the role of grandfather Abraham Simpson from season 32.
