Steven Spielberg is an American producer, director and screenwriter born on December 18, 1946. He was named "The King Midas of cinema", for his versatility and way of creating cinematographic art.

It began in 1968 with a short film called Amblin, the name with which its main production company was baptized years later. After directing the television film Duel to Death in 1971, he began an unforgettable career as a producer and director. He is remembered for his direction in fantasy genre films such as Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, among others, and war films such as Empire of the Sun, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan. For these last two he won the Oscar Award for Best Director, one in 1994 and the other in 1999.

He is known for his production of television series and cartoons. He remains one of the most influential directors in Hollywood. He himself created his production companies such as DreamWorks Studios SKG, and Amblin Entertainment, located in Universal City, California.
