About Adaptation[]

  • The characteristic phrase of the saga is adapted in the original dubbing as, "Come with me if you want to live", and in the redub as "Follow me if you want to live."
  • Similarly, the most emblematic expression of this film (said by Schwarzenegger), "I'll be back", in the redoubling changes to "I'll be back".
  • In the Colombian alternate dubbing, the prologue is narrated with a robotic tone.
  • In the original dub, during the scene in which Lieutenant Ed Traxler reads out the names of the murdered women, he is surprised to realize that they are both named Sarah Connor, and after asking Detective Vucovich if that is correct, says: "You're kidding me" ("You're kidding me"); in the redoubling, inexplicably that dialogue is silent, clearly seeing how Traxler's lips move without making any sound.
  • Also, in the original dub Kyle explains that "Terminator" is a"Orga-Cyber" (Organism Cybernetic), but in redoubling, says he is a "Cyborg". This is because, for the original dub, they coined the word in Spanish, while in the second dub, they used the English acronym (derived from "Cybernetic Organism"), which is more popular.
  • In the redoubling, in the scene in which Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor are hiding in the parking lot and the police are looking for them, a dialogue is heard on the radio, which is the same as that held by the operator of the police station and Terminator (pretending to be the policeman whose car was stolen) minutes before, in a previous scene. The reason for this detail is unknown.
  • In the scene when Mort is pushed by the Terminator he says "Hey dude, you have a serious attitude problem", in the original dubbing that loop is not dubbed so it just the woman's voice is heard on the telephone, while in the dubbing that dialogue is dubbed.
  • In the final scene, when Sarah Connor arrives at the gas station, there are originally several dialogues in Spanish (which can be verified at the beginning, since she reads a mini-guide to be able to speak with the dispatcher, and also when the boy takes her photograph and talk to her). In both dubbings, the entire scene was dubbed, with one particularity:
    • In the original dub, when the boy explains to Sarah that she must pay him for the photo, otherwise her father will hit him, she asks the dispatcher: "Is that true?"; he answers exactly what the boy said. And when the boy says: "Look! There's a storm coming!", she asks the dispatcher (referring to the boy): "Are you scared?", and he says: "Yes, because a storm is coming" (this perhaps to justify the use of the same language in the dubbing). In the second redoubling, however, in both situations, Sarah asks the dispatcher (referring to the boy): "What did he say?", hinting that she did not understand what the boy was saying.
